Now considered a historic landmark in Hong Kong, the Wang Nai Chung reservoir is an artificial lake built before World War II. Constructed in 1889, the reservoir held up to 27 million gallons of water. It was only the third reservoir built in China.
Due to its comparatively small storage size, the reservoir was discontinued and converted into a reservoir park in 1986 and opened to the public for water sports on the lake. Today, it is one of 41 waterworks structures built before World War II, boasting a scenic view of the lush hillsides and the city beyond. This site is one of the best combinations of antique and modern sitting side by side, creating a stunning beauty for all who visit.
