Called “Seven shows rolled into one,” the V variety show combines humor and talent with daredevil performances that require highly skilled performers to pull off without injury. In the older days of show business, specialty performances like these were often used as transitions between main acts to keep the audience’s attention while the next performers prepared for the stage. The V’s producer, David Saxe, grew up watching his mother and father perform in these shows. Instead of making specialty acts a filler, David wanted to create a show that featured only the best of these short performances.
From trapeze artists soaring across the stage to comedians filling the theater with peals of laughter, skating daredevils spinning while connected by a cloth around the neck to aerialists swinging through the air above the seated audience, every performance is a thrilling short adventure that leaves the guests in awe and surprise at the abilities of the human body.
