Trift Bridge

Challenging even the stoutest of heart, this suspension bridge built in the Alps seems to say with every step a brave soul takes, “don’t look down. Don’t look down.” Cables curve slightly downward, concaving toward Triftsee Lake some hundred meters (330 feet) below. Connecting the chasm between two mountainous peaks, the journey takes pedestrians across a daring 170 metres (560 feet) stretch.
The long suspension bridge is not the only daunting task demanded of visitors. To reach the bridge, one must first take a cable car, followed by a gondola ride, and then commence a difficult uphill hike that lasts 1.5 to 2 hours.
The bridge leads to the Trift Hut of the Swiss Alpine Club. The area attracts visitors interested in seeing the Trift glacier up close.
