This is a real treasure to sniff out. Located in SOHO, artist Rick Buckley sculpted 35 noses to be attached to walls throughout the city. Today, seven of the original thirty-five remain. If you are lucky enough to glimpse them all, it is said that you will be wealthy forever. Every one of the noses was modeled after the artist's own nose.
The artist was inspired when CCTV cameras were installed throughout London, causing controversy in the public eye. Buckley placed his noses under the noses of the cameras to make a statement. At first, nobody knew why the noses were popping up all over town, so stories started arising concerning the incident. One nose was set inside Admiralty Arch, and a legend grew around it staring that it was meant to mock Napoleon and that the cavalry troopers for the Horse Guards Parade would inevitably tweak the nose as they passed through the opening. Another legend focused on the cluster of seven noses in SOHO, stating that the person who found the Seven Noses of SOHO would be granted a great fortune.
