Renovations of the east wall of Powis Castle have revealed a surprising secret wall leading to a hidden building within. The section is not part of any of the known blueprints of Powis Castle and could tell archeologists more about what rested on the spot before the castle was constructed. Pottery was discovered that dates back to the 1600’s, when the oldest plans for the castle were made.
Renovations are still going on and the dig is deeply in process. While items have been found that put a time stamp on the area, there is still much that must come to light about the secret section of Powis Castle.
