Marché Saint-Quentin à Paris le 17 juillet 2015 by Wikimedia Commons
Located in the building Le Marché Couvert Saint-Quentin, this exotic indoor marketplace offers not only a wide array of eccentric products, but a vast selection of ethnic foods and stunning architecture to make this a must visit. It is one of the last covered markets around in Paris, and continues to thrive because of the assortment of oddities and accessories that adorn this hidden gem.
The building is one of the last of its kind in Paris: a 19th century iron and glass structure built in the Baltard architectural style. It stands apart in a neighborhood dotted by modern buildings and provides the perfect atmosphere for a visit to the market for fresh foods. Sun pours in through ample windows running the perimeter, giving light to the wares sold on booths and tables.
Here, chefs take pride in their creations, while vendors spend time on the details of their ceramic and glass concoctions. Brazilian, Italian, and African dishes are served up with care at a row of stands selling their own unique ethnic foods. The market brings together the best of every world outside of Paris.
