Liseberg

Voted as one of the top 10 amusement parks in the world, Liseberg is also one of the oldest, opening its gates in 1923. More than 3 million people visit the park annually, making it the most popular amusement park in the Scandinavian countries. The name of the park is traced back to the year 1752, when the owner of the land named the property Lisas berg ("Lisa's Mountain"), after his wife. What started in 1923 as a park with slides, trains, cars, and a funicular eventually added roller coasters, such as:
Aerospin: A 35-meter SkyRoller
The Liseberg Wheel: a Ferris wheel reaching 60 meters in height
Baldor: voted the Best Wooden Tracked Roller Coaster in the world
AtmosFear: originally an observation tower that was converted into a 116 m drop tower
Kållerado: a rapids ride that takes passengers through foliage and waterfalls
FlumeRide: a log flume ride with two drops
Along with the more than 30 rides, the amusement park is also widely known for its cultural events. Halloween season sees the creation of several houses of horrors. Christmastime brings the Christmas market with mulled wine and reindeer meat.
