Réouverture du cinéma Le Louxor (Paris) by Jean-Pierre Dalbéra
This is the oldest cinema in Paris and often plays classic French films to match its sense of antiquity. The theater also plays modern films on a daily basis. It often plays films for local schools with its Les p'tits loux program for children. It was recently renovated in 2013 to restore it to its majesty as one of Paris’ finest functional relics. Built in 1921, it was designed in a neo-ancient Egyptian architectural style, an uncommon building style for the city. It fell into disrepair in 1988 and was closed. With the dark cloud of demolition hovering over the unused building, it was restored in 2013 and continues to enjoy renewed life.
