The tallest ferris wheel in the world, the High Roller climbs to a height of 550 feet with a diameter of 520 feet. Passengers ride in a roomy enclosed cabin equipped with glass on all sides for maximum viewing pleasure. The cabins are 22 feet in diameter, 225 square feet, and weigh 44,000 pounds each. The 28 cabins offer a spectacular view of the city from 550 feet above ground. Rides last 30 minutes, the time it takes for the wheel to make a full rotation.
Opened in 2014, High Roller became the world’s tallest Ferris wheel, beating out Singapore Flyer by just 9 feet. Singapore Flyer was completed in 2008, enjoying the record for six years.
The massive Ferris wheel takes on new tones at night, where a 2,000 LED system lights it up in an array of colors. The display can allow for a single color, differently colored carts, or dancing hues around the rim. It can even be programmed for holiday theming.
