Opened in 1760 by William Hamley, Hamley’s Toy Store is the oldest and largest in the world. Renowned for its huge collection, Hamley’s carries more than 50,000 different toy lines spread throughout its seven floors. It is the perfect way to get back in touch with one’s inner child and spend the whole day between aisles of magic and wonder. With something for every age group, Hamley’s is the one stop shop for the whole family.
Originally named Noah’s Ark when it opened, it didn’t take long for the toy store to become famous, catering to royalty and nobility by 1837. One hundred years later, Hamley’s received a royal warrant, which grants a business permission to advertise that they are a supplier of goods to a royal court or persons of royalty. The store received a second royal warrant in 1955 as a “toys and sports merchant.”
