With some of the rarest and oddest animals on display, the Grant Museum of Zoology includes the bones of dodo birds and the skin and bones of a quagga, which is a subspecies of zebra with only the front half of its body striped.
Like something out of a sci-fi film, large jars line the shelves, each with an interesting animal inside. These pickled animals range in size and include things like tree shrews, flying squirrels, and the heads of sea lions. One can’t help but wonder upon observation if this might be the place where witches go to gather ingredients for their potions.
Tucked away in a new addition to the museum lie microscopic creatures on display. Visitors view the contents of the Petri dishes through microscopes set throughout the room, showcasing some of the most bizarre creature unseen by the naked eye.
