Virtually unnoticed by tourists and locals alike, this Georgian alleyway rarely sees visitors on its cobblestone walkway. Tucked away through a narrow passageway next to St. Martin’s Lane, the court was created in 1627, and a plaque within the court claims that the row of shops was erected in 1690.
The shops are ornate in design, with Georgian style door knobs and elaborate knockers. Brass placards are engraved with the name of each shop. Spindly lamps hang from the brick walls, and iron bars cover the windows for security. Strolling through the court is like walking straight into 17th century London.
