A giant collection of skeletons and fossils, the galerie de Paléontologie et d'Anatomie comparée is the best place in Paris to see dinosaur bones and fossils from ages long past. Nearly one thousand skeletons adorn the ground floor of the exhibit with their organization and classification laid out. Along with the real skeletons are several authentic casts of skeletons, including a Tyrannosaurus skull and a complete Allosaurus. On the first and second floors are found fossil vertebrates, fossil invertebrates, and fossil plants. The museum is well over one hundred years old, and much of the collection comes from world explorers of the 18th and 19th centuries. Sculptures further accent the museum with natural settings befitting of the creatures on display, and large windows let in the maximum amount of natural light.
